Our goal is to provide our coaches with all the resources and dialogue they need to foster a safe, inclusive and welcoming environment to all ages at all levels. 

Reminder - this is Rec Soccer! Our job as coaches play a crucial role in shaping not only the skills and talents of young athletes but also their overall experience within the sport. 

ISC  will focus on these 5 principles for our coaches to foster a positive and nurturing environment that promotes not only athletic development but also personal growth and well-being.

ONE: Prioritize Fun and Enjoyment

Ensure that practices and games are enjoyable experiences for all players. Incorporate fun drills and activities that keep players engaged and excited about soccer. Celebrate small victories and progress to maintain a positive atmosphere.

TWO: Promote Teamwork and Sportsmanship

Teach the importance of teamwork, cooperation, and respect for each other, opponents and officials. Emphasize good sportsmanship, fair play, and the value of healthy competition. Encourage players to support and uplift each other, reinforcing that success is not only measured by scores but also by how they conduct themselves on and off the field.

THREE: Emphasize Skill Development

Focus on teaching and improving fundamental soccer skills, such as dribbling, passing, shooting, and ball control. Provide players with opportunities to practice and refine their abilities during both practices and games. Encourage a growth mindset that values effort and improvement over immediate results.

FOUR: Inclusivity 

Inclusivity among our players is mandatory. We also want to look at being inclusive to skill level, competitiveness and growth. While winning should not be the sole focus, it's essential to strike a balance between competition and development. As well as, being incluvive to the expereinces of each player. Every player should thrive and enjoy the beautiful game of soccer.

FIVE: Be a Positive Role Model 

Coaches should serve as exemplary role models for their players both on and off the field. Demonstrate respect, integrity, and good sportsmanship at all times. Uphold a strong commitment to ethical behavior, fair play, and inclusivity. Encourage players to emulate these values in their interactions with teammates, opponents, coaches, and officials.

In closing - the board is here for you at all times. For support and guidance throughout the season.
